I was born in Mendoza, Argentina. At the age of 26 I moved to Chile. I studied Fashion Design and I lived there for 17years.
My first job as a Designer was in a large scale men’s suits factory named Mavesa, which belongs to the Falabella Holding in Chile.
We were aprox 500 workers, and it was there I learned about the production process involved to make a garment. I had the opportunity to work with different kinds of fabrics: from the most expensive, like Loro Piana, Dourmeil, Reda, Marzotto to the cheapest, like polywool and polyester. For shirts I worked with Albini, Thomas Mason, Canclini, as well as CVC and polycotton.
After Mavesa, I began to work in retail apparel with brands as Paco Rabanne, La Martina (Polo Brand) , Basement in Falabella, and Cacharel, La Dolfina (Polo Brand), Marquis in Ripley.
A quick sample of the suits that I designed, which I dared to ¨model¨ myself, can be seen below.
AMADOR consisted in 4 different styles. It was made with a traditional Super 110’s Vitale Barberis Canonico’s fabrics and polyviscose two tone lining. Here the photos of one of them. (you can click on the photos)
Some brands that I’ve worked for…
Some details.
A few details pictures of the suit.
I’ve been working in apparel since 2010 to date. To make each collection, I traveled to Europe and New York to buy samples and confirm trends and colors that were searched earlier on the internet/market. The next step was to make a mood board, a color palette and to present the collection in a showroom. Continuing the production process, I made CAD and technical files with the complete description of the product, including size specs and colors. Sent all to China or local producers in South America, once the negotiation was finished, I followed up the entire production process as needed, including fitting, to obtain the required quality on time.
